Rear Window: Vauxhall,
London [1997-98]
Among the first works Gersht made after leaving the Royal College
of Art, the Rear Window series was taken from the window of
his tower block flat in south London. Taken with long exposures
at different times of the year to capture the intense colours
the London sky, the photographs form an unconventional portrait
of the city Gersht had now made his home. |
